‘Club 17 is the newly realised venue next to the existing Paal 17. Both locations are often described as beach pavilions, although in terms of appearance and overall experience, they go far beyond that concept. Mark Röpke, owner of both establishments, approached me with the request to develop a high-end lighting design that would match the ambitions of this project. During our first introduction and the site visit in the shell construction phase, it became immediately clear that no compromises would be made in terms of quality or appearance. The vision was a stylish, refined interior that could effortlessly transform into a dynamic setting for club nights or party evenings featuring a DJ and/or live band.
Based on my previous positive experiences with the fixtures and the people at CLS LED, I deliberately chose this high-quality solution. The combination of aesthetics, flexibility, and technical performance makes these fixtures exceptionally well-suited to both atmospheric hospitality environments and event functionality. Following an inspiring visit to the showroom and an extensive tour of the company, we developed a well-considered, future-proof lighting plan in a short timeframe. The order could then be placed efficiently.

The fixtures are used as follows:
- Ruby Compact Pendant Track fixtures are suspended along the long side of the bar. The track is mounted on a steel cable, tensioned from left to right.
- Jade ColourFlow Bolt fixtures are installed throughout the space to highlight the tables.
- Jade ColourFlow Track fixtures are positioned above the short sides of the bar and used to illuminate the surrounding tables.
- Topaz Expo Track fixtures are fitted with barndoors to create a “theatre” effect and are used to highlight the mural.
- Ruby Bracket fixtures are used to highlight four beer kegs.
- Martina Bracket fixtures are ceiling-mounted to illuminate the window frames of the sliding glass roof.
