Het Afrikamuseum

With no less than 54 different countries, 2000 officially recognized languages and numerous cultural traditions, we cannot speak of simply one Africa as a whole. Africa is the second largest continent in the world and is home to a enormous diversity, flourishing fashion scenes and best of all, is closer than you would think.

In its renewed permanent exhibition, the Africa museum shows you what modern-day Africa looks like, while it also informs its visitors about the past of this vast continent and looks forward to the future. It is without a doubt a fascinating glance into a continent that has been closely tied to Europe for many centuries.

The light design was orchestrated by the Heinz Loopstra Light Design company. Based on great experiences in earlier projects, they opted for illumination by our Jade Zoom in a 3000K, CRI≈90, Local Dim variant.

All fixtures were equipped by a honeycomb louvre. Furthermore, a great number of fixtures are provided with the CLS elliptical beam shaper. Thanks to this last accessory, the Jade Zoom can also be used as a Wall Washer. Some of the fixtures were equipped with rotatable barndoors.

The images and our short movie quickly clarify and demonstrate the many optical qualities of the Jade Zoom. A perfect illumination with a soft homogenous light beam.

We would like to congratulate the board and employees of the Africa museum and wish them the best of luck with this wonderful result.
